St. Marys Industrial Training Institute

The St. Mary’s ITI is one of the oldest ITI in Udupi   District established in 1985  “The International year for youth” at Chitpady  Udupi.  The ITI is just a walkable distance from the heart of the city.

The Institution has the privilege of vast 30 years of experience   in quenching the thirst of knowledge and skill seeking Trainees. Thousands of trainees are the benefactors of the quality education given by the Institution.

The aim of the Institution is to provide industrial Oriented Vocational Training to the youth and thus contribute positively towards reduction of unemployment among educated youth.

The Trainees will get vast job opportunities even in large scale Industries. Our Institution is contributing for technical advancements, Industrialization, self reliance and development of our Nation.

The trained are well settled and recognized in the society.   Most of them are working abroad and the continent even some are entrepreneurs. The             St. Mary’s ITI always shows its loyalty through quality training for sweated fees paid by the poor parents of the trainees. The Institution is the sprit for every trainees  to reach their milestone.

St.Marys ITI is run by the Governing council of Catholic Education Society of Udupi Dioces(CESU) presided by Bishop very Rev. Dr. Gerold Islac Lobo and under the management of Mother of sorrow’s Church , Udupi.

Very Rev.Fr. Charles Menezes is guiding the Institution as correspondent.

The Management Committee is always at its toe to develop the Institution.

What is ITI

Globalization, Modernization, and Industrialization are the key factors of economical success of any country. To achieve success in any field a skilled work from a skill trainee is essential.

ITI are the only Institution which produce skilled workers for the Industries. Workers are the backbone of any Industry and most of the vacancies are filled by these skill ITI Trainees.

There are limited job opportunities for highly educated or non technicals in any firm as they are less skilled.  ITI trainees get more practical knowledge than any other technical courses.

Most of the companies adopt these skilled Trainees immediately after their course completion, because Industry survive   by 75 %  of its skilled labours  who are  ITI Trainees.

ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣ, ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೀಕರಣಗಳು ಯಾವುದೇ ದೇಶದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಂಶಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ತರಬೇತಿದಾರರಿಂದ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಕೆಲಸ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ.

ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನುರಿತ ಕೆಲಸಗಾರರನ್ನು ಉತ್ಪಾದಿಸುವ ಏಕೈಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಐಟಿಐ. ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಉದ್ಯಮದ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಖಾಲಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಐಟಿಐ ತರಬೇತುದಾರರೇ ಭರ್ತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆದ ಅಥವಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕೇತರರಿಗೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸೀಮಿತ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳಿವೆ. ಐಟಿಐ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆಯುವವರು ಇತರ ಯಾವುದೇ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ  ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಮುಗಿದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಈ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಉದ್ಯಮವು ಅದರ 75% ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಾದ ಐಟಿಐ ಪ್ರಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬದುಕುಳಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Affiliation & Recognition

All the Trades in St. Mary’s ITI are Affiliated to NCVT , Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation of Govt. of India and  the Institution is  also recognized by  Govt. of Karnataka.

The Trainees who successfully complete their course will be issued with National Trade Certificate ( NTC) from Govt. of India.

ITI is the only course where Certificate is provided by Govt. of India which valid around the Globe.

Academic Informations:

Admission:

  1. Admission is open to all the candidates with 15-40 years of age limit, irrespective of caste, creed, & religion subject to rules of the Govt.
  2. The candidate who has successfully completed S.S.L.C is eligible for admission.
  3. At the time of admission following documents should be produced.
  • Original S.S.L.C marks card with 5- copies
  • Income Certificate & Caste certificate (optional)- 2 Copies
  • Passport size photos -5
  • Adhar card copy -2
  1. Candidate must be citizen of India and he should have studied at least 7

Academic years in Karnataka State in any one of the Govt. recognized Institution.

  1. Candidates belong to SC/ST, 2 A, 2 B, 3 A & 3 B category shall produce Caste & Income Certificate verified & issued by Tahashildar.
  2. Physically handicapped candidate should furnish a certificate issued by the concerned  Govt. Authority.

Physically handicapped candidates will not be admitted to Electrical trade.

  1. Admission by any Govt. quota demands certificate of concerned authority of Govt.
  2. The admission will take place only after holding an Interview.
  3. The date & time of interview will be intimated to the applicant in advance.
  4. Admission based on merit & Govt.  Reservation policy.

ATTENDANCE :

      A  candidate shall be considered to have satisfied the requirement of the attendance for the year if he has attended not less than 80 % of the number of periods actually held up to the end of each semester in each of   the subjects.

The candidate who does not satisfy the requirement of attendance in one subject, shall not be permitted to take whole examination & required to re admit.

MEDIUM:

The medium of Instruction is English/ Kannada.

Hours of Training:

The Institution follows a 6 -day week schedule. The working hours from 9.00 A.M. to 4.10 PM

Examinations:

All India trade tests are conducted by the DGET twice in a year Jan/Feb. & July/ August. Internal monthly testes conducted in the end of each month according to the syllabus completion.

Award of Certificate:

A candidate who successfully completes their courses shall be eligible for N.T.C.

Rules & Regulations

Rules & Regulation:  (Mandatory)

  1. The applicant once admitted will not be allowed to quit the course in middle.
  2. The candidate who leaves the course in middle have to pay the fees of their complete duration of course and then only the original marks card will be returned.
  3. Damaging the Institution property, Instruments will lead to strict warning & fined two times of its value.
  4. The candidates must obtain the printed receipt for each payment of amount.
  5. The fees should be paid within the given time
  6. The default of payment of fees, the names of such students will be struck off from the role, after due notice.
  7. Once paid fees will not be refunded at any circumstances.
  8. The failed candidates get only maximum six attempts to take their AITT exams within the three years of period as per DGET norms.
  9. Mobile, smoking, drinking, loitering, damaging public properties are strictly prohibited inside the Institution premises. Such students will be rusticated from the Institution.

Rules & Regulation: (  Institutional  )

  1. Students can get the benefit of all Govt. holidays & 5 local holidays given by the Management in special occasions.
  2. The Institution remains closed on second Saturday of every month.
  3. Students need not to come when local D.C. declares holiday during emergency cases.
  4. Students must get the prior permission of respective subject J.T.O’s. for leave.
  5. Only in emergency conditions students allowed to take leave and later it should be informed in writing.
  6. Bunking, boycotting classes of any subjects tends to strict warning & absent for the class.
  7. No student allowed to actively participating in any political party, social harm institutions, Govt. banned recognitions.
  8. Institution is not responsible for the unexpected things that take place out of Institution premises.
  9. Parents meet will be conducted once in every three month.
  10. The trainees who fail to call their parents will not be allowed to the classes.
  11. The Institution is well maintained to deserve to furnish all the basic needs of students.
  12. Canteen facility is provided.
  13. Suggestion from students & parents always welcome.

  15. Students are the back bone of any Institution & they are also the future of Nation.
